Brenda Francis, DVM

Originally from Rhode Island, Dr. Brenda Francis completed a B.S. in Cardiopulmonary Science with a minor in Mathematics at Northeastern University (Boston, MA) in 1999. Shortly thereafter, she and her husband moved to Colorado, in an effort to better enjoy the outdoors. While in Fort Collins, Dr. Francis worked as a critical care veterinary nurse. This experience, combined with her background in human medicine, led her to apply to the veterinary program at CSU, from which she graduated in May of 2008.

Professionally, Dr. Francis is most interested in emergency and critical care, but is also interested in cardiology and immune-mediated disease. She anticipates a long career in emergency medicine.

During her time off, Dr. Francis enjoys spending time with her husband, Eric. They can often be seen riding bikes throughout the city and surrounding areas, especially enjoying cross-country mountain biking, road riding and dirt jumping. When the rivers allow, some early summer hours are spent kayaking, while in the winter, she enjoys snowboarding. Currently, she has three cats (Delilah, Sam and Autumn) and two dogs (Trey and Zoe), all with their own special needs.
